- he was born to lydia and gavin out of wedlock, and his parents eventually wed to make their family more legitimate. his parents weren't the richest of people, so they were trailer park trash for the longest time. his mother did her best to take care of her son since his father was a bit of a drunk, and never really took responsibility for his family. she worked very hard to support her son, and soon, she eventually got pregnant again after a few years. nathaniel became a burden on the family, or at least that's how their father phrased it.
- axel's father soon started to drink more and more, causing more problems within the household, especially for the boys. eventually, he became abusive, hitting the boys when he got too angry. soon, axel started to take the brute of it in order to protect his brother from the abuse, taking all he could before it was too much. his mother couldn't very well step in, our of fear for her own life.
- as he went through school life, his behavior tended to border on the troubling, since he didn't really get along with the other children. he tended to wander the streets, never wanting to go home to what awaited him there. once he started high school, his downward spiral began. his teachers wanted him to do well, since he had such a brilliant mind, but he never applied himself. his mother wanted him to go to college and get the hell out, but he never put forth the effort. he managed to graduate, but barely, and took no steps toward furthering his education.
- he eventually started working at a car garage, doing all the odd jobs here and there, but always paying close attention to how things work. he became the errand boy, before making his way to an assistant. however, the abuse at home escalated until his father hit axel with a bottle. he then retaliated by beating the man into submission before yanking nathaniel out of the house with him.
- currently, axel is one of the primo mechanics at a local shop here in los angeles, with guardianship over his younger brother nathaniel, who will be starting his junior year in high school. axel does what he can to support them both, but it has become challenging over the years when nathaniel has been having talks of college.
